Ukraine’s a long way from Australia and it’s difficult to comprehend what’s happening there, every day, to people in the path of war. But the war grinds on, and distance doesn’t mean there aren’t ways we can help directly just by starting right here, in Australia.
You can provide real help on the ground in Ukraine and have fun at the same time through the Support Ukraine – Eat Chicken Kyiv Campaign, the brainchild of passionate Australian fundraiser Andrea Palmer.
The Ukraine Crisis Appeal

The Ukraine Crisis Appeal is a tax-deductible Australian charity that’s been providing direct assistance in Ukraine since 2015, in conjunction with Rotary International and Caritas Ukraine.
Each month the Ukraine Crisis Appeal assists more than half a million people affected by the war in Ukraine, providing medicines to more than 17,830 people via Caritas Ukraine, mental health and other support for 77,546 people, 165,000 food packages, 75,000 hygiene kits, 32,170 bed linen sets, and shelter for 1,400 people every day. The fund has sent 750 tons of humanitarian aid directly to active conflict zones, and another 150 tons to other humanitarian organizations working in Ukraine.
The fund is staffed by volunteers, so every dollar donated goes to work in Ukraine, directly helping the people most in need of assistance.
